Some of my black and white photography

Some of you know that I'm taking a photography class this quarter. I thought I would post a few of the photos I've gotten so far.

A photogram (exposing the paper without using a camera and film) of my high school band shirt.

The boys on our front steps.

The boys after church one Sunday.

And, one of my favorites (though this isn't the best print, that one got turned in today.) This is the boys after bath one night.

  1. Beautiful pictures, Bethany. You and Jon are following your Grandpa Belcher's love of photography. I wish he was hear to enjoy what you two are doing. He loved taking photos of us and developing them himself. I remember as a child watching the negative develop into a picture. It was fascinating.

    Love,

    Mom

  3. Nice work, chica. I loved my B&W photo classes. With all the digital stuff, it's becoming a lost art.

  5. AJ has grown so big. The last pic is priceless. When you shoot behind the back, it sometimes seems to capture the sentiment better -- as in this case. (Re: my blog and the 90 degree rotation -- yes, I'll fix to fix that photo!)

  6. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! Tuesday evening I just found out that "Joy" is a member of the church. We were at a meeting about autism and literacy that was just held in our cultural hall. She and I share a client... "Lonnie". Anyway, when I found that out at church here in Mexico, and she started telling me who she was, she told me that you were her daughter-in-law. My daughter, Sabra, and I moved here the year that you and your family moved to Springfield. (That's where we had moved from). All these years I have remembered you. You were briefly in my Primary class and I just fell in love with you (you were the only one who was behaving!!) Anyway, I don't know how I had run into your blog, but I have been reading it for some time. It never occurred to me who you are. A few minutes ago it dawned on me...PABST!! So, I looked again, and sure enough, it is all connected. Then, I looked at your profile and blogs you follow...one of them is my daughter Sabra's! I can't believe all this. It just all seems so random, but it couldn't be. At any rate, I am happy to see that you grew up to be a mom and you appear to be happy. I know your mother-in-law loves you for sure. I'll keep on keeping an eye on you, but I just had to share all of this. I know that you wouldn't remember me, as you were only about 6, but I really never did forget you. So...I'm just sending you a little hug.
    Love,
    Sister Heydt
